There are hundreds of National Parks in the United States and thousands around the world. Moreover, in the United States and elsewhere there are many different kinds of National Parks. These sources will help you learn more about the multitude of parks — call if “parkology”

Of these 63 are simply called National Parks. The others have the word “National” in their names, but with other words, such as National Battlefield, National Historical Park, National Monument. and National Memorial. The article provides a useful overview with examples.
